Explore the Japanese Market with Free Customized Research – Powered by Vulcanus in Japan

Romanian and European tech SMEs now have the opportunity to explore the Japanese market in depth, through customized, no-cost market research provided by the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation under the Vulcanus in Japan Programme. This initiative is part of the Centre’s mission to support internationalization of EU businesses in Japan.

The research will be conducted between October 2025 and March 2026 by highly qualified European engineering and science students, currently based in Japan for their internships under the Vulcanus programme.

What does the programme include?

Participating companies will benefit from a structured market research assignment that typically includes:

  • Analysis of the Japanese market size and segmentation for your product/service
  • Overview of major competitors active in Japan and their market positions
  • Mapping of potential customers, partners, and distribution channels
  • Review of relevant regulatory, legal, and certification requirements
  • Assessment of the technical feasibility of market entry
  • Identification of risks and challenges in approaching the Japanese market
  • Cultural and communication considerations relevant to business development

The research will be tailored to each company’s needs. A detailed request form allows companies to define what they expect, and each project is monitored and supported by the Centre’s expert business coaches to ensure research quality.

Companies will receive a final written market research report, supported by a presentation, summarizing findings, data sources, and actionable recommendations.
