For U.S. entrepreneurs and business leaders looking east, 2026 offers a rare window: Romania has designated this year as the "Year of the United States in Romania," opening the door to a level of institutional support and visibility not typically available to bilateral business events. Iași — Romania's second-largest city, a university and tech hub sitting at the EU's eastern border — is positioning itself as the natural stage for this opportunity, building on partnerships with american institutions, public administrations, companies etc.

We invite entrepreneurs, investors, and institutional representatives from Texas to join the U.S. delegation traveling to Iași for the US–Romania Regional Economic Forum – Bridge to Tomorrow, taking place October 22–23. Over two days, the Forum brings together Romanian and American companies, public authorities, academia, and investors around three tracks: technology and innovation, energy and infrastructure, and nearshoring and regional logistics.

The program combines keynote sessions, thematic panels, and scheduled B2B meetings — with a demo day dedicated to the region's tech companies — designed to generate direct commercial connections rather than one-off introductions. Delegates will meet directly with Iași's mature IT ecosystem, its two leading universities (Alexandru Ioan Cuza University and "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University), and an active entrepreneurial community, with the backing of the local City Hall and County Council.

For companies exploring nearshoring, energy transition partnerships, or a foothold in the EU's eastern markets — including the logistics corridor toward the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine — this Forum offers a concentrated, high-access format: real meetings with real counterparts, not a conference agenda.

Beyond the boardroom, delegates will experience Iași itself — a city of historic architecture, academic tradition, and genuine hospitality — setting the stage for the kind of relationships that outlast a single trip.

For delegates able to extend their stay, the trip can be framed as a broader regional itinerary rather than a single stop. The visit can open in Bucharest on October 21, giving delegates a first read on Romania's capital and its national business and institutional landscape — headquartered companies, embassies, national-level decision-makers — before heading north to Iași for the regional discussions of the Forum. After the Forum closes, delegates have the option to continue on October 24–25 to Chișinău, the capital of the Republic of Moldova, just across the border from Iași. Since one of the Forum's core themes is Iași's role as a logistics and nearshoring gateway toward Moldova and Ukraine, a short extension to Chișinău lets delegates see that corridor firsthand — a chance to read a second, adjacent market in the same trip, rather than treating the region as a single stop on the map.
