Join the Romanian National Pavilion at Web Summit Lisbon 2026

Afaceri.ro invites Romanian tech companies and startups to join the national delegation at Web Summit Lisbon 2026, held from November 9–12. As one of Europe’s premier technology events, Web Summit is the ultimate hub for networking, global investment, and industry-leading innovation. Financial Support & Benefits

Through the Export Promotion Program (ARICE), participating companies can benefit from significant state funding:

• 100% Coverage: Stand rental, construction, and essential utilities.
• 50% Subsidy: International transport, accommodation, and medical insurance (within legal limits for one representative per company).
• Expert Support: Specialized consultancy for application and participation logistics.

Eligibility & Selection

The selection process follows a „first-come, first-served” principle. Due to limited spots and budget constraints, early application is critical.

• Startups: May qualify for specific tracks (ALPHA, BETA, GROWTH) based on funding and age (under 5 years), unlocking pitching opportunities.
  • ALPHA: For early-stage startups seeking product validation and mentorship. Generally, these companies have raised up to $1 million in funding.
  • BETA: For startups that have gained significant traction and are disrupting their industry. Typically, these have raised between $1 million and $5 million.
  • GROWTH: For the fastest-growing companies on the global stage, usually having raised over $5 million.
  • Note: To qualify as a startup, companies must be less than 5 years old, have an original software/hardware product, and be an independent entity
  • Consultancies, agencies, developers, marketing/advertising agencies, public companies will not be accepted
  • Startups must be their own independent company and not a subsidiary of a larger organisation
  • The startup must be launched and live with their own working website at a minimum
  • The startup cannot already be registered to exhibit at the event
  • The startup must have a logo available in .eps format
• Non-Startups: Companies not meeting startup criteria are still welcome to join the general national pavilion.

Costs

Upon approval, a participation fee applies:

• Standard Fee: €300.
• Reduced Fee: €150 (Available for ARIES members or companies officially validated as Startups by Web Summit).
• Guarantee: A returnable bank guarantee of 2,000 RON is required by ARICE.

How to Apply

Interested companies must prepare a specific documentation file (including Fiscal Certificates from ANAF and local authorities, the minimis aid declarations etc.).
