AgriTech4Tunisia Innovation Challenge

What if innovation today could help secure the future of Tunisia’s agriculture and food systems? The AgriTech4Tunisia Innovation Challenge is a targeted competitive program designed to support breakthrough agri-tech solutions that strengthen food security, enhance resilience, and unlock sustainable growth within Tunisia’s agricultural sector.

Led by the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT through the CGIAR Accelerate for Impact Platform (A4IP) and implemented with partners including ICARDA, IWMI, and IRESA, the program is endorsed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries of Tunisia and supported by an ecosystem of national and international collaborators.

The program targets entrepreneurial scientists and startups with a working Minimum Viable Product (MVP), ideally tested with end-users, and actively fundraising at pre-seed or seed stage.

Priority focus areas include:

  • Sustainable water management, smart irrigation, and non-conventional water solutions
  • Precision agriculture and input optimization
  • Climate-smart services and tools
  • Post-harvest solutions and market access
  • Agri-finance tools
  • Agricultural value chains and circular economy solutions
  • Digital extension services and capacity building

What selected teams receive:

  • Fully funded 4-day bootcamp in Tunisia, including on-farm visits, business mentorship, pitch training, and ecosystem networking
  • Selection of 10 teams for a sponsored 3-month accelerator program with tailored business training and technical assistance
  • Direct access to CGIAR scientists, agribusinesses, investors, and ecosystem partners
  • Preparation for Demo Day, including investor-ready materials and pilot deployment plans

Program Structure: From Acceleration to Impact

Participants accepted into the program will move through a step-by-step journey from ideation and testing toward deployment and scale, supported by:

  • expert mentorship,
  • structured training modules,
  • practical field exposure,
  • targeted investor engagement opportunities.
