Successful Business Webinar on IP Protection and Management in India
On 25 September 2025, Afaceri.ro, with the support of partners Eurochambres, IP SME Helpdesk India, Provenience, Club Afaceri.ro India, ICONIC Cluster, and EEN, hosted an online business webinar on IP Protection and Management in India. The webinar provided participants with an insightful overview of India’s economic landscape and IP framework, serving as an introduction for delegates participating in the upcoming Afaceri.ro Trade Mission to India, 28 October – 8 November 2025.
The session featured expert presentations from Mr. Girish Somawarpet Nagraj – IP Specialist for India IP SME Helpdesk, on India’s IP system, including trademark, patent, and copyright protection strategies, as well as practical guidance for European SMEs expanding into India. Key topics included conducting IP audits, building defensive IP portfolios, navigating the Indian patent office, and leveraging international routes such as PCT and Madrid for global protection. Participants also learned about India’s rapidly growing sectors, technological innovation, and opportunities in renewable energy, digital infrastructure, mobility, and IT.
Mrs. Nicoleta Ioana Ciufudean, a representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania & Member of Afaceri.ro India Business Club, shared insights on bilateral business opportunities between Romania and India, highlighting sectors such as cybersecurity, agriculture, and AI, while emphasizing the advantages for foreign investment, including tax benefits and access to European markets. The webinar included discussions on company visits, business meetings, and networking opportunities that delegates will experience during the trade mission, as well as cultural exploration across major Indian cities.
The event concluded with a Q&A session, encouraging participants to submit questions and plan for the matchmaking events, Renewable Energy India Expo 2025, and consultations with IP SME Helpdesk India during the upcoming trade mission.
This webinar successfully combined expert knowledge, practical guidance, and networking insights, offering Romanian companies a strong foundation to engage with the Indian market while preparing for the Afaceri.ro Trade Mission in October-November.
