PhD. PAUL SVASTA
Biography
Professor Paul Svasta, Ph. D. is Emeritus Professor with the Politehnica University of Bucharest, Romania. He graduates the Politehnica University of Bucharest and became full Professor in 1992. He published as author or co-author 31 books, four patents, over 350 articles in conference proceedings or scientific journals and managed more than 40 research projects.
In February 2012 and March 2014, he was awarded, by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, respectively University of Pitesti, with the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the university.
Prof. Svasta is IEEE Life Senior member and very active with the Electronics Packaging Society. He is co-founder, in 2001, of the IEEE-EP Society, Hungarian & Romanian Joint Chapter. In 2015 he was awarded, from IEEE EP Society with the 2015 IEEE EP Society Regional Contribution Award-Region 8.
Since 1992, he has organized the TIE student contest, an electronic industry-academia driven event. In 1995, he founded and continuously promotes the International Symposium for Design and Technology of Electronic Modules, SIITME. The event gathers industry and academia to debate electronics packaging issues.
